Interviewing Torture Survivors

This post from Michigan University was intended for journalists. But for us in the helping professions, this information is of paramount importance. When interacting with torture survivors (they are NOT victims) the importance of interview location, focused attention on the interviewee, and calm demeanor (even when what you hear tears your heart out) are all vital to avoid further traumatization.
